Customized Therapy to Meet Individual Needs

As licensed professional counselor with 30+ years of experience, I have training in a variety of therapeutic methods to help clients create healthy lives. During your initial intake, we will discuss what patterns are keeping you stuck and which approaches might work best to meet your goals. As we partner together, we can adjust treatment to best meet your needs.

Talk Therapy

Talk therapy focuses on our thoughts and behaviors. It helps us identify what we believe and create in our lives. Sometimes it is helpful to get an objective view of what is happening to cause emotional upset. Often trauma and emotional upset exist in our body beyond our awareness. When our body responds before we are aware of the triggers, other therapeutic methods can be helpful to address trauma.

Polyvagal Therapy and Somatic Work

Polyvagal therapy and somatic work are interconnected approaches that focus on the body’s role in emotional regulation and trauma recovery. Polyvagal breathing emphasizes the role of the vagus nerve in regulating stress responses. Slow, deep breaths help shift the parasympathetic nervous system from a state of fight or flight into calmness, relaxation, and safety.

What Is BrainPaint® Neurofeedback?

Think of your brain as a high-performance race car. Even the most powerful car cannot perform at its best if the driver has difficulty shifting gears at the right time. In a similar way, the brain may sometimes have difficulty adjusting its activity to meet the demands of different situations. BrainPaint® Neurofeedback, also known as EEG biofeedback, is a non-invasive form of brain training designed to help the brain recognize and develop healthier patterns of activity. Using sensors placed on the scalp, BrainPaint® Neurofeedback measures brainwave activity and provides real-time feedback that helps the brain practice responding more efficiently and flexibly.

How Can BrainPaint® Neurofeedback Help?

Because the brain plays an important role in attention, mood, sleep, stress response, and overall functioning, BrainPaint® Neurofeedback may be used to support a variety of therapeutic and performance-related goals. Individuals commonly seek BrainPaint® Neurofeedback for concerns related to:
  • Anxiety and stress
  • Attention and concentration difficulties, including ADD/ADHD
  • Depression and mood-related concerns
  • Trauma and PTSD symptoms
  • Sleep difficulties and insomnia
  • Fears and test anxiety
  • Emotional reactivity and impulsivity
  • Addiction and recovery support
  • Low energy and mental fatigue
  • Concussion or brain injury recovery support
  • Meditation, focus, and peak performance
BrainPaint® Neurofeedback may also be incorporated into treatment to support emotional resilience, relationships, self-awareness, and overall well-being.

Who May Benefit From BrainPaint® Neurofeedback?

BrainPaint® Neurofeedback may be used with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. It may be worth considering if you or your child struggles with attention, impulsivity, anxiety, negative thought patterns, stress, sleep difficulties, or emotional responses that interfere with daily life.

It may also be helpful for individuals who are looking for an additional therapeutic approach alongside counseling, medication, medical care, or other recommended treatment.

BrainPaint® Neurofeedback training is individualized, and the number of sessions needed varies depending on each person’s symptoms, goals, and response to treatment. Some individuals notice changes relatively early in the process, while others benefit from a longer course of training.

BrainPaint® Neurofeedback does not involve medication or electrical stimulation to the brain. It is a non-invasive approach that uses information about brain activity to support learning, greater flexibility, and improved functioning.  Optimize your brain! Create your life!
